04/26/10 - Going into the draft, the Cincinnati Bengals needed to address their void at tight end, adding some depth at safety and also get some more punch for their pass rush. They accomplished two of three. The Bengals didn't draft a safety with one of their nine picks, but they did get their much needed tight end in the first round with Jermaine Gresham and also added to the pass rush with two defensive linemen (defensive end Carlos Dunlap in the second round and defensive tackle Geno Atkins in the fourth round). They also stuck to their offseason mantra of getting Carson Palmer as many weapons as possible with two wide receivers -- Jordan Shipley in the third round and Dezmond Briscoe in the sixth. "I really feel like we've been able to improve the football team. Things kind of ended up breaking our way," coach Marvin Lewis said. "We had a grouping of about four or five players, and we were able to choose out of that grouping rather than having to regroup. So it worked well, we had some good fortunes. And I think we improved."

He has the versatility to play as an outside edge rusher on first and second downs and move to the inside on third down.
