Draft Scout Mason Foster News
03/26/15 - LB Mason Foster left the Buccaneers for the Bears Wednesday (March 25), agreeing to terms on a one-year contract.
A third-round pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2011, Foster started 54 games for the Bucs and tallied 341 tackles, six sacks and five interceptions. He returned two of the five interceptions for touchdowns.
Foster is the third defensive player to join the Bears in the past two days. They also agreed to one-year deals with defensive linemen Ray McDonald defensive end Jarvis Jenkins.
03/08/15 - LB Mason Foster, unrestricted FA update, is a solid starter at middle linebacker who was injured most of 2014. The Bucs will look to upgrade but a one-year deal still is possible. Foster is a good downhill tackler but not loose enough to turn and cover the deep middle.
12/22/14 - LB Mason Foster aggravated an Achilles injury in Sunday's loss to the Packers and likely won't play in the finale against the Saints.
12/21/14 - LB Mason Foster left Sunday's game in the first quarter with an Achilles injury and did not return. Foster said afterward he was "trying to get through it, but the pain wasn't going away -- it stayed with me. I kept pushing, but it was making me limp." Foster said even if he had been able to push through it and get back on the field, he didn't feel well enough to help the team. Foster's status for next week's regular-season finale against the Saints is unclear.
12/18/14 - LB Mason Foster practiced again on Thursday after missing the last two games with an Achilles injury and should be able to play Sunday against the Packers.
