 Draft Scout Marcus Gilchrist News
11/29/12 - CB Marcus Gilchrist drew some praise from coaches after jumping into the safety role when injuries started to pile up in the overtime loss to the Ravens. He had never played safety in the NFL. "I always pay attention to everything in the secondary," said Gilchrist, who is usually the team's nickel back. "So, I knew how to play safety and make the calls and what to do. It wasn't really that big of a deal."
11/15/12 - CB Marcus Gilchrist is coming off one of his better games. The slot defender has struggled and he'll have to prove himself against Peyton Manning and the Broncos. But if Gilchrist can help quiet the middle, the safeties can help the corners.
11/12/12 - CB Marcus Gilchrist played well in the slot, as the nickel back had a big hand in the Bucs converting but 3-of-9 third downs.
10/22/12 - CB Marcus Gilchrist could see his playing time diminish with the return of Shareece Wright. Gilchrist, like the rest of the secondary, has been challenged the last two games.
10/14/12 - CB Marcus Gilchrist remains the nickel back, although he has been struggling in that role of late.
