 Draft Scout Jeremy Kerley News
01/09/13 - WR Jeremey Kerley proved to be a legitimate NFL receiver and had a hand in every Jets pass play of 40 yards or more (he was the Wildcat quarterback on one of those plays), but other than that, it was a miserable year for Jets pass catchers.
12/31/12 - WR Jeremy Kerley set a unique NFL record Sunday, when he recorded his 34th fair catch of a punt this season with 4:58 left in the first quarter of the Jets' 28-9 loss to the Bills. Kerley broke the record previously set by Brian Mitchell, who had 33 fair catches for the Eagles in 2000. Kerley recorded two more fair catches to finish the season with 36.
12/24/12 - WR Jeremy Kerley completed the second pass of his career Sunday when he connected with Clyde Gates on a 42-yard pass in the first quarter of the Jets' 27-17 loss to the Chargers. Kerley's completion, which came out of the Wildcat, led to the Jets' first touchdown. Kerley had a 41-yard completion to Matthew Mulligan in the Jets' 2011 season finale on Jan. 1, 2012.
12/24/12 - WR Jeremy Kerley threw a 42-yard pass to fellow wide receiver Clyde Gates to set up the Jets' first touchdown in their 27-17 loss to the Chargers on Sunday. It was the fourth pass play of at least 40 yards for the Jest this season and Kerley has been involved in all of them. He caught a 45-yard pass from Mark Sanchez against the Steelers on Sept. 16, caught a 66-yard pass from Sanchez against the Dolphins on Sept. 23 and pulled in a 43-yard catch from Sanchez against the Seahawks on Nov. 11.
11/28/12 - WR Jeremy Kerley (heel, hip, illness) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday despite battling a variety of ailments. Kerley, who was initially hurt late in the week leading up to the Rams game on Nov. 18, was limited in practice last week but led the Jets with seven catches for 86 yards in the 49-19 loss to the Patriots.
