Draft Scout Jeremy Kerley News
10/02/17 - WR Jeremy Kerley, who played with the 49ers last season, said in an interview with The New York Daily News on Monday that he would feel "blackballed" by the league if he was former San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick. He said, "I just think it sucks. It sucks for him, because he's good enough to be on a football team. He can definitely help someone's team being a backup or potentially being a starter. So, I am shocked, definitely."
09/11/17 - WR Jeremy Kerley spent five seasons with the Jets, amassing 2,225 receiving yards, before playing for the 49ers last year.
The Jets reacquired Kerley last week after San Francisco cut him, but he was inactive on Sunday because head coach Todd Bowles said he simply didn't have enough plays with the offense at practice.
09/06/17 - WR Jeremy Kerley rejoined his original NFL team Tuesday when he signed a one-year deal.
Kerley, who was drafted by the Jets in the fifth round of the 2011 draft and spent his first five seasons with the club, was cut by the San Francisco 49ers last Saturday despite leading the 49ers in receptions (64) and receiving yards (667) last year. He could quickly emerge as the top receiver for the Jets, whose current No. 1 wideout is the speedy but inconsistent second-year WR Robby Anderson. Kerley led the Jets in both receptions and receiving yards in 2012 and 2013.
09/05/17 - WR Jeremy Kerley visited one of his former teams on Tuesday by checking in with the New York Jets, multiple outlets reported. Kerley is less than a week removed from being released by the San Francisco 49ers, who gave him a three-year, $10.5 million contract six months ago. In 2016, Kerley appeared in all 16 games (13 starts) for San Francisco and led the team with a career-high 64 receptions for 667 yards and three touchdowns. The 5-foot-9, 188-pound Kerley also returned 21 punts for 158 yards as the team's primary punt returner. In five seasons with the Jets (2011-15), Kerley played in 74 games (24 starts) and recorded 182 receptions for 2,225 yards and nine touchdowns. He led New York in total receptions and receiving yards during his time with the team.
09/03/17 - WR Jeremy Kerley was released by the 49ers on Saturday. He led the club in receiving last season with 64 catches for 667 yards and three touchdowns, then was retained in free agency with a three-year contract that included a $2.8 million guarantee.
