08/31/15 - CB Ellis Lankster had his contract terminated by the Bills Monday (Aug. 31).
08/17/15 - CB Ellis Lankster was signed by the Bills Monday (Aug. 17). The 5-foot-9, 190-pound Lankster makes his return to Buffalo after entering the NFL as a seventh-round pick of the Bills in the 2009 draft out of West Virginia. In addition to spending the 2009 season and 2010 training camp with the Bills, Lankster has spent time with the New York Jets in each of the past four seasons, but only played in two games in 2014 before being released Sept. 23. He has played in 49 career games (one start), with 62 tackles, two interceptions and one sack.
09/23/14 - CB Ellis Lankster was released by the Jets on Tuesday. Lankster was released by the Jets during the cutdown to 53 players but re-signed on Sept. 12. He played just one snap in his two games with the Jets.
09/15/14 - CB Ellis Lankster was signed by the Jets on Friday and played in Sunday's 31-24 loss to the Packers. Lankster was among the Jets' final cuts, but his return was no surprise given his experience with the Jets, whom he has played for since 2011, and the versatility he offers on defense and special teams. He had three tackles Sunday.
09/02/14 - CB Ellis Lankster was waived by the Jets on Monday. The release came as a surprise, given Lankster's three-season tenure with the Jets and his ability to contribute on both special teams (he ranked second on the Jets in special teams tackles last year) and at cornerback, where he saw increased snaps this preseason for the cornerback-starved Jets.
