Post-Draft Outlook: A closer look at the Eagles' picks: Round 2/53 -- LeSean McCoy, RB, 5-11, 204, Pittsburgh...With Brian Westbrook turning 30 in September -- he was slowed by a knee injury last season -- the Eagles needed to get a back who could step in immediately and share the load with Westbrook. McCoy is a fast, explosive runner who can catch the ball out of the backfield. The biggest concern with him is his blocking; if he can't block well enough to protect the quarterback, he won't get on the field. - by The Sports Xchange

Draft Scout *LeSean McCoy News
12/30/13 - RB LeSean McCoy won his first NFL rushing title Sunday. He finished with 1,609 yards, nearly 300 yards better than runner-up Matt Forte. McCoy also led the league in yards from scrimmage (2,146). But he said neither would have meant much if the Eagles hadn't won Sunday.
"The stats, the (franchise) record (for rushing yards in a season), all of that doesn't mean anything if we don't win today," McCoy said after rushing for 131 tough-to-come-by yards on 27 carries in the Eagles' 24-22 win over the Cowboys that clinched the NFC East title.
"I didn't play as well as I thought I could today," he said. "But we got the job done. It's not always going to be perfect. Not always going to be pretty. But we dug deep and pulled it out."
12/26/13 - RB LeSean McCoy is averaging 6.4 yards per carry in the fourth quarter this season.
12/18/13 - RB LeSean McCoy, who had a season-low eight carries Sunday against the Vikings, is expected to get a lot more than that this week against a Bears defense that is dead last in the league against the run.
12/09/13 - RB LeSean McCoy is pushing the envelope workload-wise. He has a league-high 301 touches. That's a 370-touch pace, which is a lot for a 5-10, 205-pound running back.
11/20/13 - RB LeSean McCoy has an NFL-high 213 rushing attempts and an NFL-high 247 touches. He is on pace to finish with 310 carries and 360 touches, both of which would be career-highs. Running backs coach Duce Staley said earlier in the season that McCoy isn't built to be a 300-carry back.
