Post-Draft Outlook:
A closer look at the Eagles' picks: Round 2/53 -- LeSean McCoy, RB, 5-11, 204, Pittsburgh...With Brian Westbrook turning 30 in September -- he was slowed by a knee injury last season -- the Eagles needed to get a back who could step in immediately and share the load with Westbrook. McCoy is a fast, explosive runner who can catch the ball out of the backfield. The biggest concern with him is his blocking; if he can't block well enough to protect the quarterback, he won't get on the field. - by The Sports Xchange

 Draft Scout *LeSean McCoy News
03/08/15 - The Buffalo Bills and running back LeSean McCoy have agreed to a five-year contract, according to a report by ESPN. The deal will start once McCoy is officially traded to the Bills by the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the deal will add two years to McCoy's existing contract. The Eagles agreed last week to trade McCoy to the Bills in exchange for linebacker Kiko Alonso. However, it cannot become official until the NFL's new league year begins Tuesday. McCoy is third in the NFL with 6,792 rushing yards since being drafted in the second round in 2009, and has the fourth-most rushing touchdowns with 44. He rushed for 1,319 yards last season.
12/28/14 - RB LeSean McCoy finished with 248 rushing yards on 39 carries this season against the Giants, his best season performance this year against any of the Eagles' NFC East opponents. His second-best showing this season came against Dallas, against whom he ran 41 times for 213 yards.
12/10/14 - RB LeSean McCoy had a season-high 159 rushing yards two weeks ago in the Eagles' 33-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys. Does he expect the Cowboys to do anything differently in the rematch Sunday to stop him? "I think they'll look at the Seattle tape and try to do different things like they did," McCoy said. "Also, I think they're going to come into this game trying to stop the run. Last time we played them, it got bad. I'm sure they're not happy about it, and they kind of want to make that statement. We look forward to them coming in here and playing hard. It'll be a tough game. I don't think it'll be like last game. That type of blowout."
12/08/14 - RB LeSean McCoy was held to 50 yards on 17 carries by the Seahawks, but managed to pass Wilbert Montgomery and become the Eagles' all-time leading rusher. McCoy, who is just 26 and in his sixth season, has 6,541 yards. "It means a lot, it's something special," McCoy said. I just wish it could've been under different circumstances (a 24-14 loss to Seattle). Us winning and me not having a terrible games. It's obviously a great accomplishment. But it's hard to really enjoy it on a day like this." McCoy played the game with a heavy heart. One of his first cousins died last week in an automobile accident. McCoy missed practice on Friday because of it.
12/03/14 - RB LeSean McCoy needs just 48 more yards to replace Wilbert Montgomery as the Eagles' all-time career rushing leader. McCoy, who is only 26, has 6,491 yards. Montgomery, who played for the Eagles from 1977 until 1984, had 6,538 yards. Montgomery currently is the running backs coach with the Cleveland Browns. "It's cool to think I'm going to have more yards than any running back this team has ever had," McCoy said. "It means a lot. To pass a guy like (Montgomery), it means a lot. I got word that he is absolutely happy (that McCoy is going to break his record). That means a lot to me to have his blessing."
