 Draft Scout News
08/29/10 - DE Derrick Morgan finally made his debut for a few plays against the Carolina Panthers and did a nice job turning the corner on a pass rush, nearly getting to Panthers quarterback Matt Moore in the first half. Morgan has been bothered all camp and even back to OTAs with a nagging calf injury. He did some individual work on Aug. 25 in the joint practice against the Arizona Cardinals and made his way back into team drills the next day.
08/26/10 - DE Derrick Morgan finally returned to practice Thursday after dealing with nagging hamstring and calf injuries. "It felt good just to get some actual real football work in as opposed to just kind of running and conditioning," Morgan said. "It felt real good to be out there with teammates and in the swing of things."
08/15/10 - DE Derrick Morgan hopes to return this week from the nagging calf injury that has plagued him since OTAs.
08/08/10 - DE Derrick Morgan still has not made it back from a first-day calf injury, and is losing valuable reps, leaving Jacob Ford the likely starter at right defensive end.
07/31/10 - DE Derrick Morgan, the 16th overall pick, has agreed to a five-year deal, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Terms were not disclosed. Morgan is being counted on to take up some of the slack that occurred on the defensive line last season after the loss of Albert Haynesworth. Haynesworth's departure as a free agent left a monumental hole against the run and the pass, and while Morgan is an end, who is essentially replacing Kyle Vanden Bosch, the Titans need him to make an immediate contribution as a pass rusher and in run defense as well.
