Draft Scout Mike Pouncey News
08/12/17 - C Mike Pouncey (hip) participated in 11-on-11 drills Saturday for the first time since November. Pouncey, who was limited to five games last season, only participated in a few snaps. And the team was in half pads with no tackling to the ground. But Pouncey said limiting his participation was precautionary, not because he's not healthy. "A lot of times, a lot of guys are on the ground during practice, so we try and avoid all that stuff," he said. "But it's not anything to do with the injury that I had. They're not worried about that. It's all the way healed back up. It's just that we want to ease back into it since I've been out for eight months."
08/07/17 - C Mike Pouncey, whose practice time is being limited due to a lingering hip injury, went through some individual drills at walk-through pace Monday. But there's no change in his status. Pouncey will likely practice very little during training camp, play very little in preseason games and practice very little during the regular season.
08/01/17 - C Mike Pouncey (hip) continues being brought along slowly. Pouncey, who is on the active roster, has been on the field during practice during the first five days, and there was no contact; it was basically a walk-through drill. Other than that, the three-time Pro-Bowl selection has been working on the side of the field with team trainers. During one session, he fired off the line of scrimmage and pulled to his left and then pushed a sled.
07/27/17 - C Mike Pouncey (hip) opens training camp on the active roster, boosting hopes the three-time Pro-Bowl selection remains on the mend. Pouncey was limited to five games last season and figures to be limited during training camp. But the fact that Pouncey isn't on the PUP list is reassuring that his condition hasn't worsened. Pouncey was in practice gear, with helmet, on Thursday but he worked on the side while the line went through individual drills.
07/22/17 - C Mike Pouncey will have his left hip examined next week and hopes to be cleared to join his Dolphin teammates for the start of training camp.
Pouncey, the anchor to the Miami Dolphins offensive line since 2011, has not practiced since November, missing all but five games last season due to the hip injury. Pouncey will get the hip examined one more time before the start of camp when the first practice begins July 27. The 27-year-old Pouncey has suffered no setbacks with his hip rehabilitation since going on injured reserve in December and both the player and the team are "confident" the exam will yield positive findings, those familiar with the situation told Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald. Pouncey sustained the injury in a 2016 preseason game and missed the first four games of the season. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound Pouncey has not played a 16-game season since 2012, his second year in the NFL. He has required surgery on both hips.
