12/28/12 - C Mike Pouncey was named first alternate for the AFC Pro Bowl team at his position.
11/28/12 - C Mike Pouncey hasn't gotten much attention from Pro Bowl fan voters for his play this season, but he's certainly earned the attention of Patriots coach Bill Belichick.
Pouncey, the team's first-round pick in 2011, has been, by far, the Dolphins' most consistent lineman and hasn't allowed a sack this year. He also had an impressive play last week against Seattle, pulling out in front of Reggie Bush and flattening a defender to spring Bush for a 21-yard touchdown run.
"He looked like a fullback running out there -- maybe better than some fullbacks," Belichick said. "He's a 300-pound guy but he plays stronger than that. He's got very good playing strength, good hand strength, good punch, athletic. … He's a good finisher. His shotgun snaps have improved. He's one of the best centers in the league."
