Draft Scout Mitchell Schwartz News
10/20/16 - RT Mitchell Schwartz was listed by the Chiefs on their injury report this week with a sprained ankle. However, Schwartz was a full participant in practice Wednesday and Thursday and should be available for Sunday's game against New Orleans.
05/26/16 - RT Mitchell Schwartz did not miss a game in his first four NFL seasons playing with the Cleveland Browns. Signed as an unrestricted free agent in March by the Chiefs, he's trying to adjust to a new offense and new teammates. "This is now my fifth playbook in five years but for these guys it's the same one for the last four years," Schwartz said. "You can tell that it's not just installing the base play; they're getting into the finer details of it, you're able to do more stuff off of it, you don't have to start from Day 1 like you're teaching a bunch of guys in high school. So it's been really cool to kind of integrate into that. Luckily I've had a lot of playbooks so I kind of have a grasp of a little bit of all of it. I'm just trying to piece it all together to get on their level because it's more detail-oriented than I'm used to at this time of year."
03/11/16 - T Mitchell Schwartz, who became an unrestricted free agent with the Browns March 9, was signed by the Chiefs Wednesday (March 9).
12/21/12 - OT Mitchell Schwartz has played well as a rookie, but faces a significant challenge from the Broncos' corner rush tandem of Elvis Dumervil and Von Miller. Schwartz will see Dumervil a lot, and his movement skills will be challenged by Dumervil's quickness.
12/07/12 - RT Mitchell Schwartz has had a strong rookie season. Schwartz has played better than expected, and earned the respect of his teammates to the point he was named the Browns' fourth captain this week.
