Draft Scout Jabaal Sheard News
08/08/17 - OLB Jabaal Sheard hasn't disappointed the Colts' coaching staff during the first week of training camp. The former New England Patriots' linebacker has been as good as advertised. "A lot of the stuff that we saw on tape. Obviously, a quiet guy. He doesn't say a whole lot," Pagano said. "He demands in his own way of himself and his teammates. But he's a big, physical guy and he's a good pass rusher. I wouldn't be surprised to see him have double-digit sacks for us this year. "We're going to do a lot of things. He's good against the run, he's hard to block, he plays with great leverage, he's got good length and he's got good strength. If we do our job on first and second down and we get in third-down situations, (defensive coordinator) Ted (Monachino) and those guys are going to put him in position. He's going to have his fair share of singles and then we'll do some stuff to try to get some free runners. He's doing a nice job right now."
01/18/17 - DL Jabaal Sheard (knee) was added to the injury report after being limited in practice on Wednesday.
11/21/16 - DE Jabaal Sheard, who started each of the first eight games of the season, was a healthy scratch against the 49ers and did not even make the trip to San Francisco with his team. This came a week after Sheard sat out all but one play of the first quarter against Seattle and played a total of 16 snaps against the Seahawks.
11/19/16 - DE Jabaal Sheard did not travel with the Patriots to the Bay Area and will not play in Sunday's game against the 49ers.
Sheard, 27, was not on the team's injury report this week but was left home because of a performance-based decision, NFL Network's Rapoport reported Saturday.
Sheard, who is in the final season of a two-year, $11 million contract, was demoted as the starter for last Sunday night's 31-24 loss to the Seahawks. He played only 16 snaps in a backup role. He has 18 tackles and 3.5 sacks in nine games this season.
08/24/16 - DE Jabaal Sheard (knee) returned to the practice field to do some conditioning work Tuesday, having missed a week-plus of practice due to a reported torn MCL suffered in the preseason opener.
