Draft Scout Ryan Tannehill News
02/23/17 - QB Ryan Tannehill has passed a battery of tests on his ACL and Grade 2 MCL sprain and is expected to be available for all of the team's offseason program, the Miami Herald reported on Thursday. Tannehill missed the Dolphins' last three regular-season games and their playoff loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers with a severe knee sprain. The 28-year-old elected against full reconstructive surgery and instead opted for rehabilitation with adult stem cell treatment, the Miami Herald reported. Tannehill is expected for a full workload by the start of training camp in July and likely will wear a knee brace throughout the season.
01/31/17 - QB Ryan Tannehill is expected to avoid surgery on his partially torn ACL, according to an NFL Network report Monday.
Tannehil was having an MRI on Monday, but he isn't believed to require a surgical reconstruction of his ACL prior to the 2017 season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Tannehill sprained the ACL and MCL in his left knee in the Dec. 11 game against the Cardinals. The MCL sprain is giving Tannehill some trouble, and he might visit Germany for the platelet-rich plasma therapy used by some athletes including former Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant, according to the report.
01/11/17 - QB Ryan Tannehill (two sprained ligaments in left knee) might require offseason surgery, according to coach Adam Gase, and doctors have not ruled out reconstructive surgery. Tannehill, who sustained his injury on Dec. 11, practiced on a limited basis last Friday, lending hope to the idea he could have played if Miami made an extended playoff run.
01/09/17 - QB Ryan Tannehill, sidelined since Dec. 11 with two sprained ligaments in his left knee, practiced lightly Friday, boosting the idea he could have returned at some point during the playoffs. The Dolphins still say Tannehill won't need surgery and should be available for the entire offseason program.
01/04/17 - QB Ryan Tannehill did not practice Wednesday due to his left knee injury but still could return for Sunday's wild-card game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tannehill has been sidelined since the Dec. 11 game versus the Arizona Cardinals in Week 14 with a sprained ACL and MCL in his left knee. Coach Adam Gase told reporters on a conference call with the Pittsburgh media that the staff will decide later if Tannehill will practice Thursday.
