01/09/13 - DE Muhammad Wilkerson turned into a star in the second half, and the ascent doesn't appear to be anywhere near complete for the second-year player. Wilkerson finished the year with five sacks, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery for a touchdown and a blocked field goal, all while playing 83 percent of the snaps -- by far the most among defensive linemen. Alas, the Jets may be rebuilding the defensive line around Wilkerson.
12/26/12 - DE Muhammad Wilkerson (concussion, knee) did not practice Wednesday. Wilkerson played in every snap of the Jets' 27-17 loss to the Chargers but was diagnosed afterward with a concussion. Given that he is also battling a knee injury, it appears questionable at best that Wilkerson, a second-year player who has emerged as a star this year, will suit up for what amounts to a meaningless season finale.
12/19/12 - DT Muhammad Wilkerson's breakout season continued Monday night, when he blocked Rob Bironas' 47-yard field goal in the first quarter and finished with five tackles in the Jets' 14-10 loss to the Titans. He has four sacks, three forced fumbles this year and a fumble recovery for a touchdown.
11/20/12 - DE Muhammad Wilkerson forced yet another fumble in the Jets' 27-13 win over the Rams on Sunday and has three forced fumbles in the last five games. Wilkerson jarred the ball loose from Sam Bradford when he sacked the Rams' signal-caller in the second quarter and teammate Bart Scott returned it to the Rams' 28-yard line to set up the Jets' go-ahead score.
11/18/12 - DE Muhammad Wilkerson forced the Sam Bradford fumble that set up the Jets' go-ahead touchdown in their 27-13 win over the Rams on Sunday. Wilkerson scored the Jets' only touchdown last week against the Seahawks when he picked up a fumble and raced 21 yards for the touchdown.
