Draft Scout Nick Hill News
05/23/12 - QB Nick Hill was waived by the Packers.
01/25/12 - QB Nick Hill was signed on Jan. 20 by the Packers, who likely are preparing for QB Matt Flynn's departure.
Hill, who turns 27 in April, is a first-year player plucked out of the Arena Football League. He played for the Orlando Predators in 2010 and '11 and had signed with the Tampa Bay Storm for the upcoming AFL season.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Hill completed 387 of 578 passes for 4,758 yards and 97 touchdowns with 17 interceptions in 16 games for Orlando last season.
Hill's only brush with the NFL came in 2008, when the Chicago Bears signed the former Southern Illinois standout as an undrafted rookie in the offseason but cut him before training camp that year.
The Packers likely will lose Flynn, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent and figures to hit it big on the open market as a starting-caliber QB. That would leave Graham Harrell and Hill as the backups to Aaron Rodgers for now.
