08/10/10 - DT John Gill was placed on reserve/non-football illness following an incident over the weekend when he was found by Indianapolis police passed out in a ditch. He will miss the 2010 season while being treated for alcoholism.
Said Colts general manager Bill Polian, "He's got a problem unfortunately that many Americans are familiar with either in their family or in the workplace. The No. 1 priority for him is to get treatment and we're in that process right now. He's going into treatment as quickly as possible. That's being arranged with the appropriate people at the league level and we'll move on from there."
Added Polian, "We had hoped this would be a good year for him, but it hasn't turned out that way."

12/29/09 - DT John Gill got his first opportunity to play in a regular-season game for the Colts in the loss to New York. Gill has been on the team's practice squad ever since being added to the roster earlier this season. He began his NFL career with the Detroit Lions last year.

08/18/09 - DL John Gill signed with the Colts. The undrafted rookie out of Northwestern was waived by Detroit last week.
