10/19/17 - S Mike Mitchell has reportedly been fined $48,620 by the NFL for his late hit of Chiefs QB Alex Smith last Sunday. Mitchell is in the process of appealing the fine, per the ESPN report. The hit occurred in the fourth quarter of Pittsburgh's 19-13 win. Mitchell came in from behind and tackled Smith at his knees. Smith immediately got up and shouted at Mitchell. Mitchell received a 15-yard penalty for the hit. "I'm not a dirty player," Mitchell said Monday via ESPN.com. The 30-year-old has been fined twice before by the NFL for unnecessary roughness.
10/04/17 - S Mike Mitchell, who missed the Ravens game with a hamstring injury, returned to practice and was a full participant. The Ravens game was the first he's missed since signing with the Steelers in 2014.
