 Draft Scout Jason Williams News
04/01/10 - LB Jason Williams, a third-round pick last season, didn't see much action in 2009 as he struggled to make the transition from Western Illinois to the NFL. But the Cowboys expect Williams to benefit from the redshirt season and make push for playing a time at inside linebacker this season. "I think he's just going to get better and better," coach Wade Phillips said. "He's a lot like (cornerback) Mike Jenkins was in that he tries to do whatever you ask him to do and he has talent, so he's going to get better and better. We ask him to work on something, he works on, and he gets better at that. That's kind of how Mike has evolved. It wasn't all of sudden just put him out there and he play. Some young guys can do that and other guys come in and take a little while to get acclimated and get the feel for pro football. The speed of the game doesn't bother him, though, I can tell you that. He is really fast. That's a real plus. Not many linebackers that we have or anybody has can run like him. We've got high hopes for him this year."
03/04/10 - LB Jason Williams. Struggled with the transition from small college to the pro game. It was disappointing that he couldn't even make an impact on special teams and was inactive for much of the year.
09/30/09 - LB Jason Williams returned to practice Wednesday for the first since suffering a high ankle sprain in the preseason. He is fully cleared and should play against the Broncos Sunday.
09/23/09 - LB Jason Williams is out of his walking boot and appears close to returning to the field. It will still be another two weeks before he returns from a high ankle sprain.
09/16/09 - LB Jason Williams is out of his walking boot but is still out another two to threee weeks with a sprained ankle.
