11/30/12 - DT Ahtyba Rubin has been a rock since returning from a calf muscle injury. The Browns have given up 49 and 63 yards to Dallas and Pittsburgh with Rubin and Phil Taylor on the field. Rubin, though, plays 90 percent of the defensive plays, so his impact is consistent against the run and the pass.
11/23/12 - DT Ahtyba Rubin was limited in practice during the week, but is expected to face the Steelers. The Browns' run defense was greatly improved against Dallas with both Rubin and Phil Taylor on the field. The only caveat would be that Dallas isn't a great running team, and the Cowboys had offensive line problems. That being said, having both defensive tackle starters on the field should help the Browns both in the run game and the pass rush, which got seven sacks in Dallas.
11/18/12 - DT Ahtyba Rubin made six tackles in his first game back after missing two games with a calf injury.
11/15/12 - DT Ahtyba Rubin has returned to practice and should join Phil Taylor on the field for the first time this season. Rubin has missed time with a strained calf muscle, but returned to practice after the bye. Taylor was out with a torn pectoral muscle. The two were expected to be interior anchors of the defensive line, but they have not been on the field together this season.
11/14/12 - DT Ahtyba Rubin practiced Monday and Wednesday for the first time in nearly a month. Rubin injured his calf muscle late in the game against the Giants on Oct. 7. He missed the next game and started against the Colts on Oct. 21 but had to leave in the first quarter. He has not played since. Rubin said the calf was "doing well."
