Post-Draft Outlook:
BEST PICK: In a draft that seemed to be short on elite talent, the 49ers might have grabbed one with the No. 10 overall pick. Crabtree is a tough, physical receiver who will win over Singletary with his willingness to mix it up as a blocker. Maybe this wasn't as much a great pick, as it was lucky that he fell in the 49ers' lap. A closer look at the 49ers' picks: Round 1/10 - Michael Crabtree, WR, 6-2, 215, Texas Tech...The 49ers were ecstatic that Crabtree was there when it was time to pick. He is coming off surgery for a stress fracture in his left foot. The club expects him to be 100 percent for the opening of training camp, and likely win the starting job at split end. - by The Sports Xchange

 Draft Scout *Michael Crabtree News
09/01/10 - WR Michael Crabtree and TE Vernon Davis were involved in a confrontation at practice and were separated by coach Mike Singletary, CSN Bay Area reported. The report said Davis spoke angrily at Crabtree. "They were both wrong," Singletary told CSN. "And we will not have distractions on this team. Vernon forgot temporarily that that is not allowed. We don't do that. We don't treat family like that. We don't disrespect each other. "I just needed to remind him that's not who we are. He's fine. He did a great job. He's one of the captains. He did the right thing, but he did it the wrong way."
08/29/10 - WR Michael Crabtree has yet to play in a preseason game for the 49ers. Crabtree was still dealing with a stiff neck Saturday and was held out of the team's third preseason game. The injury occurred Aug. 11.
08/20/10 - WR Michael Crabtree (neck) will not play Sunday against the Vikings.
08/19/10 - WR Michael Crabtree was held out of practice again Thursday morning with muscle strain in his neck. Crabtree was initially hurt last week after landing on his back coming down after trying to make a catch in the end zone.
08/12/10 - WR Michael Crabtree (strained neck) sat out much of Wednesday's practice after landing on his back coming down after trying to make a catch in the end zone. Crabtree also had a few days off this week because of soreness, coach Mike Singletary said. The injury isn't considered serious.
