Crabtree is a tough, physical receiver who will win over Singletary with his willingness to mix it up as a blocker. Maybe this wasn't as much a great pick, as it was lucky that he fell in the 49ers' lap. He is coming off surgery for a stress fracture in his left foot. Despite all the lost time, Crabtree put together the best 49ers season for a rookie receiver since Jerry Rice caught 49 passes for 927 yards and three touchdowns in 1985. "Jumping in in the middle of the season, trying to get the plays and all the big adjustments I had to get used to," Crabtree said. "I'm ready to work hard. Whatever coach has for us this offseason, I'm just ready to get better."
