01/07/10 - Brown had just shredded the Troy defense by catching 13 passes for a career-high 178 yards. He also turned the game around for the No. 25 Chippewas with a 95-yard kickoff return along the right sideline with 7 minutes, 47 seconds remaining in the game. He said it was one of the best games of his life. “It’s one of them,” he said on the field after the game. “Anytime I come out, I thank God, because you never know when it’s your last. We did a good job as a team, our star receivers, the quarterback Dan (LeFevour) did an awesome job today.” Brown passed his previous school record of 102 single-season receptions, set in 2007, and finished with 110 this season. With 305 career receptions, Brown also finished one catch short of tying a Mid-American Conference record. Brown has one year of eligibility remaining, but has looked into entering April’s NFL draft. He said he would wait until CMU’s new coach is announced before declaring his intentions. “It would be great to end on a note like this, but I’m going to wait and see who’s the new CMU coach,” he said. “Hopefully it’s (interim) coach (Steve Stripling) and I’m going to call them and weigh my options. “I haven’t really had time to go over this decision yet, but I’ve got a little off time now, so I’m going to kind of weigh my options and I’ll be sure to let everyone know what I’m doing.” - Daniel Monson, Central Michigan Life
01/07/10 - Central Michigan junior receiver Antonio Brown will enter the National Football League Draft. Brown announced his decision late Thursday. "I feel like I have matured and developed during my time at CMU," Brown said. "I want to thank the whole academic staff, my coaches, the whole CMU nation and everyone involved in the football program who believed in me and helped me mature as a person." Brown finished his career with 305 receptions for 3,199 yards and 22 touchdowns. He also rushed for four touchdowns and returned three punts and two kickoffs for touchdowns during his career. Brown is CMU's all-time leader in receptions and ranks second in Mid-American Conference history. He is third in school history in receiving yards and second in touchdown receptions. Brown was the MAC Special Teams Player of the Year in both 2008 and 2009. He was named MAC Freshman of the Year in 2007. Brown caught 102 passes for 1,003 yards and six touchdowns in 2007. In 2008, he caught 93 passes for 998 yards and seven touchdowns. Brown finished 2009 with a school-record 110 receptions for 1,198 yards and nine touchdowns. Brown was selected the 2010 GMAC Bowl Offensive Most Valuable Player after posting 403 all-purpose yards in the No. 25 Chippewas' 44-41 double-overtime win over Troy Wednesday night. 01/06/10 - GMAC BOWL, MATCHUP TO WATCH: Central Michigan's Antonio Brown vs. Troy's defense and special teams unit - Brown causes fits for teams with his ability to make plays. Brown can rack up yardage via receiving, running, returning punts and returning kickoffs. The junior led the Chippewas with 97 receptions, 1,020 yards and nine receiving touchdowns. Brown ranked fourth on the team with 319 yards rushing on 38 carries. One of the best returners in the country, Brown averaged 13.5 yards per punt return, with two punt returns for touchdowns. He averaged 20.4 yard per kickoff return. And Brown even completed his only pass of the season, a 24-yarder.

12/04/09 - 2009 ALL-MAC FIRST TEAM: Punt Return Specialist - Antonio Brown, Central Michigan, has been selected to the Mid-American Conference First Team for the 2009 college football season. Brown earned first team all-conference recognition as both a receiver and punt returner. He ranked second in the MAC in receptions (89) and all-purpose yards (2.093), tied for second in touchdown receptions (9) and tied for fourth in receiving yards (954).
