Draft Scout Brandon Weeden News
10/05/15 - QB Brandon Weeden lost for the 10th straight time as a starting quarterback. He is 0-3 since joining the Cowboys. But there were signs of progress against the Saints, particularly the 91-yard touchdown drive that tied the game in the fourth quarter with a 17-yard strike to Terrance Williams.
10/04/15 - QB Brandon Weeden mostly led a dink-and-dunk attack, but he did exploit the man-to-man coverage of CB Brandon Browner with a 67-yard bomb to WR Brice Butler. On the Cowboys' game-tying drive at the end of regulation, Weeden also hit TE Jason Witten for 28 yards and WR Terrance Williams for 24. He finished 16-for-26 for 246 yards with one touchdown pass and no interceptions, but he lost his 10th consecutive start.
09/21/15 - QB Brandon Weeden stepped in after starter Tony Romo was injured and completed all seven of his passes for 73 yards, including a 41-yard touchdown pass to receiver Terrance Willliams.
09/20/15 - QB Brandon Weeden will start for the foreseeable future, as starter Tony Romo is out indefinitely with a fractured clavicle. Weeden was a first-round pick of Cleveland (22nd overall) in 2012, and he started 12 games as a rookie and five games the next year before being benched and eventually released. He signed with Dallas in 2014 and started one game. "I feel terrible that this happened to Tony, but I'm excited for this opportunity," Weeden said.
Weeden can run an offense if that offense has some talent on it. He doesn't have to pass to win games, just manage them. He proved he could do that Sunday when he completed all seven of his passes, and when the Eagles made a mistake he made them pay for it, throwing a 42-yard touchdown pass to WR Terrance Williams in the fourth quarter.
08/26/15 - QB Brandon Weeden suffered a concussion against the 49ers and must pass the proper protocols before practicing this week and playing against the Viking Saturday.
