 Draft Scout Brandon Weeden News
10/30/17 - QB Brandon Weeden, who was signed when Marcus Mariota was injured, appears to have a chance of sticking around for the full season, as the Titans released practice-squad quarterback Tyler Ferguson on Tuesday.
10/25/17 - QB Brandon Weeden, who was signed when Marcus Mariota was injured, appears to have some chance of sticking around for the full season, as the Titans released practice-squad quarterback Tyler Ferguson on Tuesday.
10/04/17 - QB Brandon Weeden was signed by the team on Tuesday to be their third-string quarterback and be active on Sunday vs. the Dolphins if Marcus Mariota is unable to play. LB Josh Carraway was waived to make room.
10/03/17 - QB Brandon Weeden agreed to terms on a contract with the Tennessee Titans, multiple outlets reported on Tuesday. The move comes two days after starter Marcus Mariota sustained a strained hamstring in a 57-14 loss to the Houston Texans. While Mariota is considered "day-to-day" by coach Mike Mularkey, the Titans (2-2) were quick to add depth behind backup Matt Cassel. Weeden, who was a former first-round pick (22nd overall) by the Cleveland Browns, last played in the NFL in 2015 with the Houston Texans. Houston claimed Weeden after he was cut by the Dallas Cowboys, with whom he played four games earlier in that season. Weeden, who will turn 34 in two weeks, was released by the Texans last month before the season started.
04/03/16 - QB Brandon Weeden, who became an unrestricted free agent March 9, re-signed with the Browns Friday (April 1). Weeden played in two games, making one start, for the Texans last season after being claimed off waivers on Nov. 19, 2015. He led Houston to its first-ever win in Indianapolis (12/20) after entering the game in the second quarter for QB T.J. Yates, who exited due to injury. Weeden finished the contest completing 11-of-18 passes for 105 yards, one touchdown and a 95.8 passer rating. The following week at Tennessee (12/27), he started and led the team to a 34-6 victory over the Titans, connecting on 15-of-24 pass attempts for 200 yards, two touchdowns and a career-high 116.7 passer rating. Weeden also added his first career rushing touchdown and became the first player in franchise history to record two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown in a game.
