 Draft Scout Dan Bailey News
12/23/15 - K Dan Bailey, with a 91 percent field-goal conversion rate all time, is the NFL's most accurate kicker in history. However, the fifth-year veteran never made a Pro Bowl until Tuesday. Bailey has made 28 of 29 field goals this season and 142 of 156 in his career. His 54-yarder beat the Washington Redskins on "Monday Night Football" earlier this month, the 10th game-winning kick in his career. "Dan has been a great player for us for a number of years," coach Jason Garrett said. "We have a lot of faith and a lot of trust in him to do his job. He's come through time and time again. He's had an outstanding year. He's just a great kicker and a great asset to our football team."
12/09/15 - K Dan Bailey won the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his work in the Washington game. Bailey hit all four field-goal attempts, including the 54-yard game-winner with nine seconds remaining. Bailey now has won three special teams player of the week honors, tied with Billy Cundiff and Dwayne Harris for the most in team history. Bailey is 25-for-26 this season. He hit from 38, 34, 20 and 54 yards on Monday night.
12/07/15 - K Dan Bailey was perfect on the night, converting field goals from 38, 34, 20 and 54 yards. The last one was a game-winner with nine seconds to play.
11/27/15 - K Dan Bailey hit two field goals Thursday, giving him 603 points for his career. Only running back Emmitt Smith (986) and kicker Rafael Septien (874) have scored more points in team history. "To be honest with you, I didn't even know that's where we were," Bailey said. "I'm not trying to play dumb; I didn't know. They came up to me after the game and handed me the ball, and they explained it to me. "I'd like to play another 10 to 15 years. You always have to be aware of where you are, and any time you can get in the company of guys like Emmett and Septien, those are great names in this organization's history, so you have to be aware of that. But you still have to stay focused on the task at hand and stay in the present and go out there and execute."
11/26/15 - K Dan Bailey scored the Cowboys' only points inthe first 55 minutes of Thursday's game against the Panthers. When Bailey nailed a 21-yarder in the first quarter, it seemed like a good sign that the Cowboys had gotten on the scoreboard and only trailed by seven. But when Bailey kicked a 48-yarder with 7:53 left in the third quarter, it didn't seem like field goals were going to be enough for Dallas to compete.
