Draft Scout Donald Butler News
03/03/16 - ILB Donald Butler was released, the San Diego Chargers announced Thursday. Butler's release was not a surprise after he lost his starting job last season and carried a $9.28 million cap figure for 2016. He had five seasons remaining on a seven-year, $51.8 million contract extension he signed in 2014. Butler, 27, started 62 games over his five seasons with the Chargers.
12/23/15 - ILB Donald Butler continues to be a no-show on the field -- thanks to the coaches. Butler, who began the year as the starter opposite Manti Te'o, has lost his spot to rookie Denzel Perryman. Butler, who is healthy, hasn't played a snap in his past two games and all signs point to the Chargers not bringing him back next season.
12/16/14 - LB Donald Butler was placed on reserve/injured by the Chargers Monday (Dec. 15). Butler suffered a dislocated elbow in Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos. He finishes the season with 83 tackles (second on the squad), a team-leading three fumble recoveries and six tackles for loss (also second on the squad).
10/15/14 - RB Donald Butler (concussion) has yet to be cleared to return.
10/06/14 - RB Donald Butler left Sunday's win over the Jets with a concussion.
