Draft Scout Snapshot: DS Rating on 9-1-10: #21 CB, #157/750 Overall, 6
2010: Started all 12 games at left cornerback, playing 799 snaps from scrimmage, all but 10 of the team total; he was one of CU's four team co-captains, as selected by his teammates. He was a second-team All-Colorado selection by the state's chapter of the NFF, and he earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors from the league's coaches. He led the Buffaloes with three interceptions and tied for the team high with five passes broken up; he often drew the top receiver on the opponent since they tended to shy away from Jimmy Smith. He racked up 46 tackles (28 solo, two for losses), with six third down stops, two fumble recoveries, and a touchdowns save...2009: Earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors in 2009 from both the Associated Press and Big 12 Coaches...He has played in 37 career games, seeing action in all 12 games in 2009 while starting the last 10 games of the season...played in all but 10 defensive snaps (613of623) in the last nine games of the year and ranked sixth on the team with 66 tackles and led the Buffs with 15 pass breakups and two interceptions...He also had eight third down stops, two quarterback pressures and two fumble recoveries...2008: Played in all 12, starting six, all when the Buffs opened in a nickel formation...was in for 461 snaps from scrimmage and recorded 52 tackles (40 solo, three for losses), with five third down stops, four passes broken up and an interception...2007: Saw action in all 13 games, including the Independence Bowl, on special teams and in three on defense at free safety and some cornerback...The recipient of the Bill McCartney Award for special teams achievement, he really came into his own on special teams the latter half of the season...led the team with 31 special teams points, with 25 coming in the last six games of the year...2006: Redshirted.

 Draft Scout Jalil Brown News
09/14/12 - CB Jalil Brown took part in the full-team portions of Thursday practice with the Chiefs, as he comes back from a groin injury he suffered two weeks ago. Brown's chances to play against Buffalo figure to be no better than 50-50.
09/03/12 - CB Jalil Brown was a limited participant in Monday's practice because of the groin injury he suffered on August 24. His status for the regular-season opener on Sunday remains iffy.
08/29/12 - CB Jalil Brown suffered a pulled groin on August 24 and did not return to practice in the days after the game he was not on the practice field and doing very little rehab work. Brown was starting in place of Brandon Flowers, who was out with a heel injury. Brown's status for the Atlanta game is unknown.
