12/21/15 - G Jon Asamoah has reached an injury settlement with the Falcons.
The move saves the Falcons $3.5 million in cash and $1.9 million in cap space next year, according to ESPN.com. Asamoah will be off the books in 2017. Asamoah, who started 15 games for the Falcons in 2014, was placed on injured reserve prior to the start of this season with a hip injury. The injury settlement means he is now a free agent. The 6-4, 305-pound Asamoah was originally selected by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He was signed by the Falcons as a free agent on March 12, 2014. In five NFL seasons, Asamoah has appeared in 75 games with 56 starts.
