07/27/14 - DE/OLB Mike Neal is on the PUP list when the team held its first camp practice Saturday. Neal indicated afterward that he's been enduring soreness in his lower abdomen. He participated in the offseason program this spring, filling in as a starter at outside linebacker with Clay Matthews held out. Neal isn't expected to miss much time at the outset of camp.

01/06/14 - DE/OLB Mike Neal sustained an injury to his right knee in San Francisco's first series Sunday and didn't return to the wild-card playoff game, won 23-20 by the 49ers. Before undergoing an MRI exam later in the day Monday, Neal said he was told by the team's medical staff that he didn't incur a torn ACL in the knee. "I don't think it's anything real bad," Neal said. "It's just sore, stiff (with) no swelling. So, hopefully, it's just an MCL or something like that, one of those things that will heal on its own and I'll be good."
01/01/14 - OLB Mike Neal (abdomen) wouldn't have practiced had the team been on the field Wednesday. With the only practices of the week slated for Thursday and Friday in advance of the wild-card playoff game against San Francisco on Sunday, it remains to be seen how involved Neal will be. The team has been careful the last several weeks about making sure he's healthy enough on game day to play. Neal has been the primary starter at left-side outside linebacker the second half of the season.
