Draft Scout Rob Housler News
04/09/15 - TE Rob Housler left the Cardinals for the Browns as an unrestricted free agent Thursday (April 9), signing a one-year, $1.76 million contract.
Housler, 27, caught just nine passes last season after appearing to enjoy a breakout 2013 campaign in which he caught 39 passes. The Browns' tight-end depth chart took a serious hit when Jordan Cameron signed with the Miami Dolphins. The only other tight ends on the current roster are Gary Barnidge and Jim Dray, who are both known more for their blocking skills.
A third-round pick out of Florida Atlantic in 2011, Housler has caught 105 career passes for 1,133 yards and a touchdown during four NFL seasons.
03/08/15 - TE Rob Housler, unrestricted FA update, never developed into the offensive weapon the team hopes. Housler has excellent speed, but was inconsistent as a receiver and a poor blocker. He will play elsewhere in 2015.
09/29/14 - TE Rob Housler should be ready to play this week after missing Week 3 with a hip injury. Housler, one of two starting tight ends, has caught the ball well so far this season.
09/22/14 - TE Rob Housler, who missed last week's game with a hip injury, should be able to practice this week.
09/19/14 - TE Rob Housler (hip) is questionable for Sunday's game vs. the San Francisco 49ers.
