Draft Scout Jaiquawn Jarrett News
04/25/15 - S Jaiquawn Jarrett, a restricted free agent, signed his $1.542 million tender with the Jets Friday (April 25).
Jarrett, 25, started in seven of the 14 games he played last season, recording 41 tackles, 1.5 sacks, two interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
It was the most action Jarrett had seen since the Jets drafted him in the second round in 2011.
03/08/15 - S Jaiquawn Jarrett, restricted FA update, enjoyed a monster game against the playoff-bound Steelers on Nov. 9 when he earned AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors after racking up two interceptions, a fumble recovery, a sack and 10 tackles in the Jets' 20-13 upset win. But that was the outlier for Jarrett, who had 31 tackles and a half sack in the other 15 games. He probably won't be tendered, but the Jets will likely entertain bringing him back at a minimal investment.
11/20/14 - S Jaiquawn Jarrett (calf) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday. Jarrett is coming off a breakout game Nov. 9 in which he earned AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors by recording two interceptions, one fumble recovery, one sack and 10 tackles in the Jets' 20-13 win over the Steelers. As long as he's healthy. Jarrett will likely draw another start against the Bills this Sunday.
11/12/14 - S Jaiquawn Jarrett was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday. The honor came as no surprise following Jarrett's breakthrough game Sunday against the Steelers, whom he victimized for two interceptions, one fumble recovery and one sack while playing every snap on defense in the Jets' 20-13 upset victory. Jarrett, who was making his first start of the season, is the first player in Jets history to record two interceptions and a sack in the same game.
11/09/14 - S Jaiquawn Jarrett had the best game of his NFL career Sunday, when he took advantage of a rare start by recording two interceptions, one fumble recovery and a sack in the Jets' 20-13 win over the Steelers. Jarrett set up a Jets touchdown by recovering a fumble in the first quarter and picked off Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger in the red zone once apiece in the second and third quarters. Jarrett, who hadn't started a game this season, entered Sunday with no interceptions, no fumble recoveries and half a sack in four NFL seasons.
