11/21/13 - QB John Skelton was added to the roster as a third quarterback behind Ryan Fitzpatrick and Rusty Smith. Coach Mike Munchak said Smith would remain the No. 2 QB for now.
09/04/13 - QB John Skelton had a tryout with the 49ers Tuesday.
08/31/13 - QB John Skelton was released on Saturday by the Cincinnati Bengals got down to the league-mandated 53-player roster to start the season.
04/02/13 - The Arizona Cardinals released quarterback John Skelton on Monday, clearing the way for the anticipated addition of Carson Palmer. Skelton was Arizona's starting quarterback for the 2012 season-opener, but had to leave that game with an ankle injury. He ended up starting six games in 2012, throwing nine interceptions with just two touchdown passes for the season. He started 17 games over three seasons for Ken Whisenhunt and the Cardinals. The Cardinals also announced quarterback Brian Hoyer signed his restricted free-agent tender. The Cardinals reportedly are close to completing a deal with the Oakland Raiders that will bring Palmer to Arizona.
12/11/12 - QB John Skelton blew another chance to prove he can be a productive starter in the NFL. Skelton started against the Seahawks after being benched two games earlier. He had four passes intercepted and was benched in the second half.
