Draft Scout Joe Reitz News
03/11/15 - OL Joe Reitz signed a three-year deal worth up to $10 million with the Colts Tuesday (March 10). Reitz is primarily a guard but has the flexibility to slide to tackle in a pinch. He was set to become an unrestricted free agent.
He has played in 44 career games with the Colts, including 24 starts, in the past four years (2011-14).
In 2014, he saw action at guard and tackle in 10 regular-season games (four starts) and started three postseason games at right tackle. The Colts finished the regular season ranked first in the NFL in net passing yards, third in total net yards and sixth in points scored. In the playoffs, the offensive line only allowed 1.0 sack and none in the final two games.
In 2013, Reitz appeared in a career-high 14 games in the regular season (three starts) and was part of an offense that averaged 108.9 rushing yards per game.
Reitz was claimed off waivers by the Colts on September 28, 2010 and spent his first season with the team on the practice squad before being elevated to the active roster on January 8, 2011.
03/08/15 - G/T Joe Reitz, unrestricted FA update, can play guard and both offensive tackle positions for the Colts. He's a valuable guy to have around in a pinch to fill in when and where needed. Is Reitz an every-down offensive lineman in the NFL? Probably not. But he can provide some much needed relief on the injury-plagued offensive line.
01/08/15 - OL Joe Reitz has played three positions for the Colts this season. In 277 snaps at both guard spots and at offensive tackle, he has only allowed two sacks. Reitz is expected to start his second straight game at right tackle Sunday at Denver.
12/31/14 - G/T Joe Reitz (ankle) practiced Wednesday. Reitz was hurt at Cleveland on Dec. 7 and missed the following three games. Reitz may be cleared to play against Cincinnati on Sunday.
12/29/14 - OG/OT Joe Reitz (ankle) was held out of the Tennessee game after trying to play at Dallas a week earlier. Reitz was initially hurt at Cleveland on Dec. 7 and missed the Houston game a week later. He is expected to return for practice on Wednesday
