10/23/14 - S John Boyett was released from the practice squad by the Broncos Thursday (Oct. 23).
09/04/13 - S John Boyett was released from the reserve/non-football injury list Tuesday. Boyett was arrested early Monday on preliminary charges of disorderly conduct, public intoxication and resisting law enforcement after an altercation at a downtown Indianapolis bar. According to the police report, Boyett was denied entry into a bar because he was intoxicated, and he refused to leave. When police tried to arrest Boyett around 3 a.m., he resisted and fled. After a short chase, it took four officers to subdue the 5-10, 200-pound suspect, according to the police report. The Indianapolis Star, citing the police report, said Boyett told officers: "You can't arrest me, I'm a Colts player. The report said the 23 year old was "very abusive." Boyett is accused of threatening one of the arresting officers and making fun of the officer's hair and nose. "I am going to come back and break your jaw," he is alleged to have said.
08/27/13 - S John Boyett was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list. Boyett was selected by the Colts in the sixth round (192nd overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft. At Oregon, he appeared in 40 games (35 starts) and totaled 278 tackles (182 solo), 30 passes defensed, 10 interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, and a half of a sack.

07/23/13 - S John Boyett was placed on the Non-Football Injury List to open the Indianapolis Colts' training camp. Boyett, 5-feet-10, 203 pounds, was a sixth-round pick out of Oregon. He played in just one game during the 2012 season after suffering tears in the patellar tendons in both knees. Boyett led team in tackles in 2010 and 2011, recording 108 tackles with 67 solos as a junior in 2011. He played through most of his junior season with his patellar tendon issues.
