Draft Scout Xavier Brewer News
09/01/13 - CB Xavier Brewer was waived by the Cowboys Saturday.
04/17/13 - 2013 NFL DRAFT: 124 FBS PROGRAMS, 124 POSSIBLE UNDRAFTED ROOKIE FREE AGENTS: CLEMSON: DB Xavier Brewer (5-10, 192, 4.54)...Although he has experience at both cornerback and safety, Brewer is a bit of a tweener prospect, but he does remind scouts of Browns' Johnson Bademosi, who caught on as a UDFA last year. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
12/31/12 - Scouting the Clemson pass defense: Clemson's pass defense has been a sore spot all season. Despite having a healthy sprinkling of veterans in the secondary, the Tigers have been victimized time and again by big pass plays this season, surrendering 44 passes of 20 yards or more. But they seem to come up with big plays in crucial situations, which has resulted in Clemson ranking 18th nationally in red-zone defense. In other words, as long as his secondary can keep LSU WRs Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham out of the end zone, Dabo Swinney will probably be happy. - The Sports Xchange
11/26/12 - WEEK 13 ACC DEFENSIVE BACK OF THE WEEK: Xavier Brewer, Clemson, R-Senior, DB, 5-11, 190, Jacksonville, Fla. Brewer had the best game of his career on Senior Day against South Carolina with a career-high 12 tackles, including nine individual tackles. He was the leading tackler in the game for either team, three more than any teammate. He also had two tackles for loss, including a sack, an interception and three total passes defended. Brewer became the first Clemson player to record a sack and an interception in the same game since Rashard Hall did it against Boston College in 2009. - ACC football
10/25/12 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: CB Xavier Brewer -- After stints at both cornerback and safety this season, Brewer is back at corner following the loss of starter Darius Robinson. Brewer says he's equally comfortable at either position, but he'll be sure to get a test against Wake Forest and quarterback Tanner Price, particularly if Michael Campanaro -- one of the ACC's leading receivers -- is able to play. - The Sports Xchange
