03/07/13 - 2013 South Florida Pro Day: B.J. Daniels remains open to any possibilities for a career in the National Football League. First, though, he wants a shot at playing quarterback. Daniels, a four-year starter for the University of South Florida who finished with a career 10,501 yards of total offense, put his skills on display during Wednesday's NFL Pro Day at USF. Every NFL team was represented, along with a few from the Canadian Football League.
Daniels, whose college career was ended three games prematurely with a broken ankle, ran a 4.63 and 4.66 in the 40-yard dash. He had 20 repetitions on the bench press at 225 pounds. His vertical leap measured 30½ inches. He also got to throw some passes - although the gusting-wind conditions were far from perfect.
Daniels said he feels good after rehabilitating from his injury. He said he has been contacted by several NFL general managers. Some like him at quarterback, while others prefer a different position, such as wide receiver. "You don't need to have 32 teams like you, you just need one," Daniels said. "I'm looking forward to the process and showing what I can do." - Joey Johnston, The Tampa Tribune

"It truly is a blessing to have a team look at you for various things; I am blessed with the ability to do other things," said Daniels. "Quarterback is what I want to do. I want to give it all and my best and see where the chips fall." - Chris Fischer, WTSP 10 News
