 Draft Scout Marcus Davis News
03/28/13 - 2013 Virginia Tech Pro Day: Representatives from 26 NFL teams gathered at Virginia Tech’s pro day on March 20, where 13 Hokies players went through a workout indoors on AstroTurf. AstroTurf, it should be noted, is a faster surface than natural grass or even FieldTurf. Marcus Davis, WR (6-3 1/2, 226) - Davis ran the 40-yard dash in 4.50 and 4.48 seconds. He had a 39-inch vertical jump and did the short shuttle in 4.20 seconds. Davis really worked out well. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com
02/20/13 - 2013 NFL Combine, Workout warriors: A talented, but frustrating prospect on tape is Virginia Tech's Marcus Davis, who is expected to test very well in Indianapolis. Effort and consistency are large issues that will be tough to overlook, but with impressive numbers in the 40-yard dash and vertical jump, Davis could prove to be worth the risk based on his athletic potential. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
12/28/12 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: WR Marcus Davis is the Hokies' most dangerous offensive weapon, but his inconsistency has hurt the team this season. Davis can stretch a field with his speed and athleticism, but his blocking has been spotty, which is why he has not started the last two games. Virginia Tech needs him at his best against the Scarlet Knights to ensure every element of its offense is clicking. If Davis isn't involved early and often, it could be a long day for the Hokies. - The Sports Xchange
12/12/12 - 2012 COACHES ALL-ACC FOOTBALL HONORABLE MENTION: WR-Marcus Davis, Sr.-R, Virginia Tech (2), has been selected Honorable Mention All-Atlantic Coast Conference (Coaches selection) for the 2012 college football season. This year, for the first time under the auspices of the ACC, the league's 12 head football coaches voted for an All-ACC football team. - Virginia Tech football
11/17/12 - Virginia Tech kept its bowl hopes alive with a 30-23 overtime win over host Boston College on Saturday at Alumni Stadium. Hokies quarterback Logan Thomas threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to tight end Randall Dunn in the back of the end zone in overtime, and Virginia Tech's defense held Boston College scoreless in a dominating final series.

Thomas passed for 247 yards and scored three touchdowns, one rushing, in the comeback victory. Wide receiver Marcus Davis came off the bench in the second half to catch five passes for 104 yards and a 28-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter. Virginia Tech's defense held BC to 298 yards and sacked Eagles quarterback Chase Rettig six times. Outside linebacker Alonzo Tweedy, making his first start of the season, had two sacks, both in the first quarter. - The Sports Xchange
