01/03/13 - LB Marcus Dowtin was signed to a contract for 2013 by the Eagles.
11/20/12 - LB Marcus Dowtin was waived by the Jets on Tuesday. Dowtin, whom the Jets signed from their practice squad on Oct. 17, was a healthy scratch against the Rams on Sunday. Dowtin played 48 snaps on special teams and two snaps on defense in three games, though he earned a $15,750 fine from the NFL on one of those defensive snaps for hitting Dolphins quarterback Matt Moore in the head.
11/05/12 - LB Marcus Dowtin was fined $15,750 by the NFL last week for the roughing the passer penalty he drew against the Dolphins on Oct. 28. Dowtin was flagged for his hit on Matt Moore in the third quarter and the NFL also fined him because it determined he hit Moore in the area of his head. For Dowtin, an undrafted free agent making the minimum salary of $390,000, the fine means he loses an entire game check, though he can appeal the ruling.
