08/31/14 - QB Zac Dysert passed through waivers and was signed to the Broncos' practice squad Sunday. The Broncos have not had more than two quarterbacks throw passes in a single season since 2003, and general manager John Elway said there were other places on the 53-man roster where the spot was needed.
04/29/13 - A closer look at the Broncos' picks: Round 7/234 -- Zac Dysert, QB, 6-3, 228, Miami (Ohio)...One year after drafting their anointed quarterback of the future in Brock Osweiler, the Broncos might have found his potential backup in Dysert. Questions about accuracy -- particularly a high interception ratio -- and hand size helped knock Dysert down to the last round, even though he broke most of Ben Roethlisberger's records at Miami. A torn hamstring injury kept Dysert from working out fully in recent months, but he said he's "100 percent" and will be ready for rookie camp, which begins May 10. - The Sports Xchange
03/29/13 - 2013 Miami OH Pro Day: Zac Dysert is mid-round QB prospect with ample upside...A workout conducted outdoors in the elements - 25-degree temperatures and 10 mph winds - did little to hurt the intrigue surrounding Zac Dysert in the 2013 NFL Draft.
A total of 22 teams - including quarterbacks coaches from the Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos, New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers - were represented at Miami of Ohioís pro day on March 21. Dysert - who draws an obvious comparison to former RedHawks quarterback Ben Roethlisberger - has a private workout scheduled with the Philadelphia Eagles. According to his draft profile on NFL.com, Dysertís skill set and college production are similar to Roethlisberger, but he doesnít quite possess the arm strength and bulk of the two-time Super Bowl winner and 2004 first-round draft choice.
Dysert (6-foot-3 1/8, 227 pounds) went through a positional workout led by 2000 Heisman Trophy winner Chris Weinke, who now trains quarterbacks (including 2011 No. 1 overall pick Cam Newton and current Cleveland Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden). Dysert completed 54 of 64 passes in the workout, which is a good showing when you take into account the weather conditions. Dysert is a mid-round quarterback with a lot of upside, and it will be interesting to see where he gets drafted. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com
