Draft Scout Jonas Gray News
11/23/14 - RB Jonas Gray went from being a star and on the cover of Sports Illustrated to not playing a down Sunday. The SI cover jinx? He reportedly was sent home from practice after arriving late Friday. Gray dressed Sunday but didn't get in the game. Earlier this season, CB Darrelle Revis was late to practice and was sent home, but he played in the next game. Ah, being a first-year player. "We do what we think's the best, that's what we did today," coach Bill Belichick said. Gray said he was disappointed he didn't play but happy the team got the win. Revis talked to Gray after the game.
11/21/14 - RB Jonas Gray was late for practice Friday and coach Bill Belichick sent him home, following his usual rule.
11/16/14 - RB Jonas Gray set a franchise record with four rushing touchdowns and more than doubled his career totals with 38 carries for 199 yards. Gray, a first-year player who was an undrafted free agent from Notre Dame, entered the game with 131 yards on 32 attempts in three career games. He scored twice in each half.
10/26/14 - RB Jonas Gray, promoted before last week's game with the Jets, made his first start and ran for 86 yards on 17 carries in the big win. "He's run hard all year," said Belichick, who has added Gray to the mix since losing leading rusher Stevan Ridley to a season-ending knee injury." He did that in preseason, does it every day in practice; training camp. That's the way he plays. I thought he did a good job."
10/17/14 - RB Jonas Gray was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster Oct. 16 and made his NFL debut a few hours later in a win over the Jets on Thursday Night Football. Gray had three carries for 12 yards in limited playing time while also seeing special teams action.
