Draft Scout Khaseem Greene News
05/02/13 - The Chicago Bears continued their aggressive pursuit of getting their rookies under contract, agreeing to terms with linebacker Khaseem Greene and wide receiver Marquess Wilson on four-year contracts.
Greene, 6-feet-1 and 241 pounds, was a fourth-round pick out of Rutgers. The 6-4, 184-pound Wilson was a seventh-round pick. He starred at Washington State before leaving the program in the middle of last season, but still is the Cougars' career leader with 3,207 receiving yards.
04/28/13 - A closer look at the Bears' picks: Round 4/117 - Khaseem Greene, LB, 6-1, 241, Rutgers...Big East defensive player of the year in 2012 and shared the award in 2011. Began Scarlet Knights career as a free safety and led the team with three interceptions in 2010, starting all 12 games. Converted to weak-side linebacker and had 141 tackles in '11 and 136 hits last season. Managed 26.5 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks in two seasons at linebacker. Had NCAA career-record 15 forced fumbles. Brother Ray is a running back at Pitt. - The Sports Xchange
04/24/13 - 2013 NFL DRAFT RANG'S GANG: OLB: Khaseem Greene, Rutgers, 6-1, 241, 4.67...Green rarely is mentioned in the same breath as Manti Te'o, Kevin Minter, Arthur Brown or Alec Ogletree as one of the elite linebackers of the 2013 class but I'm not sure why. He's the two-time defending Big East Defensive Player of the Year since making the transition to linebacker after starting all 12 games at free safety in 2010. Whereas most of the "elite" linebackers in this draft class talk about making big plays, Greene actually made them, playing a role in a staggering 19 turnovers (12 forced fumbles, six interceptions, one fumble recovery) over a remarkable career. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
03/28/13 - 2013 Rutgers Pro Day: Host of Rutgers defenders get look from every NFL team...Representatives from all 32 NFL teams gathered at the pro day held at Rutgers on March 13, where 17 Scarlett Knights went through a workout held indoors in a practice bubble on FieldTurf. Khaseem Greene, LB (6-0 7/8, 240) - Greene ran the 40 in 4.70 and 4.71 seconds, and had a 34-inch vertical jump. He stood on the rest of his numbers from the combine. Greene also had a good positional workout. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com
03/14/13 - 2013 Rutgers Pro Day: Greene did all of the drills at the combine and simply felt that he could improve upon them, at virtually the same weight on Wednesday. I'm very comfortable with my weight, Greene told The Star Ledger. It's not like it's bad weight. I think it's very good weight. Actually, I know it's really good weight. I know that I'm fast. And running a fast 40 is nothing because I know my game speed is a lot faster than that. So when you put it all in one bowl, with people telling me I play fast and the fact that I ran a 4.61 in the 40, I think you've got a guy that's a pretty fast linebacker. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
