12/09/13 - 2013 HARLON HILL TROPHY FINAL THREE: Quiteh Named Among Top 3 Vote Getters For Harlon Hill...For the second straight season Bloomsburg University running back Franklyn Quiteh (Tobyhanna/Pocono Mountain West) has been named one of the top three vote getters for the Harlon Hill Award as the nation's top Division II football player and has received an invitation to the 28th annual trophy presentation on Dec. 20 in Florence, Ala.
Quiteh finished 2013 as the leading rusher in NCAA Division II with a career-high 2,195 yards (tops in all of college football this season) on 263 carries while scoring 31 total TD's. His 182.9 yards per game was also tops among Division II players as along with his 29 rushing touchdowns and 15.7 points per game. During the season he had six games with 200 or more yards rushing and 10 games with more than two touchdowns scored. Quiteh, the 2013 PSAC East Offensive Player of the Year and the Daktronics Super Region One Offensive Player of the Year, became the first player ever in D-II history to top 2,000 yards rushing in a season three times in a career. - Bloomsburg football
12/02/13 - 2013 HARLON HILL TROPHY FINALIST: Franklyn Quiteh, RB, 5-9, 206, SR, Bloomsburg, Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania...The 2013 PSAC Eastern Division Offensive Player of the Year, Quiteh, a four-time first team All-PSAC East pick, leads the nation in rushing with 1,987 yards on the season, while averaging 8.4 yards per carry with a division-high 27 rushing touchdowns and 29 total TD's. Quiteh also holds the school and PSAC records for most career rushing yards (7,135); rushing touchdowns (85); most total touchdowns (87), points (536); rushing attempts (1,013). He also holds the school record for most yards rushing in a game (304) and the NCAA, PSAC and school record for most 100-yard rushing games in a career with 41.
Among all active players in college football he is the leader in rushing yards, rushing yards per game, all-purpose yards, rushing touchdowns, total touchdowns, points and points per game. He is number two all-time in NCAA Division II history in total yards rushing and is just the third running back to top 7,000 career rushing yards. He is poised to go past 2,000 yards in a season for the third time in his four seasons needing just 13 yards in this week's NCAA playoff game. - Bloomsburg football
10/28/13 - The sixth-ranked Huskies improved to 8-0 for the third straight season with a 35-7 victory over Cheyney on Saturday. Franklyn Quiteh scored four first half touchdowns, running for three scores and catching another while finishing the day with 150 all-purpose yards. He finished the day with 114 rushing yards, good enough to move to fifth all-time in Division II history with 6,848 career yards.
Quarterback Tim Kelly completed 10 of 13 passes for 148 yards, scoring a touchdown through the air and on the ground. Tomas Cabrera led the team with eight tackles while the Huskies defense forced three Cheyney turnovers. Bloomsburg next faces rival Shippensburg with a national spotlight this Thursday, hosting the Raiders for an 8 p.m. game on Halloween Night televised live on CBS Sports Network. - PSAC football
10/01/13 - The No. 11 Huskies improved to 4-0 on the year and 2-0 in the PSAC East with a 56-10 victory over visiting Lock Haven on Saturday. Franklyn Quiteh rushed for 205 yards and three touchdowns on just 11 carries to surpass 6,000 rushing yards for his career, moving to 13th on the all-time Division II record list with 6,116 yards. He also added a fourth touchdown on a 33-yard reception from quarterback Tim Kelly, who threw for 184 yards and four touchdowns.
Glenn Hutton Jr. caught three passes - all for touchdowns. Kelly, Hutton and Quiteh all tied their career-highs for single game touchdowns. Joe Parsnik added 101 yards on the ground, his first career 100-yard rushing day. Safety Tomas Cabrera added an 82-yard interception for a touchdown. Interim head coach Paul Darragh became the first Bloomsburg coach to win his first four games at the helm of the program. 09/24/13 - Bloomsburg, ranked No. 13 in the latest AFCA Top 25, moved to 3-0 on the season by opening PSAC East play with a 31-12 win at Kutztown in Week 3. Franklyn Quiteh moved to 15th all-time on the NCAA Division II rushing list with 170 yards and two touchdowns and kicker Danny Fisher broke the PSAC career field goal record with his 51st 3-pointer. Quiteh now has rushed for over 100 yards in a school-record 20 straight games dating to October 2011.
Larry Webster was the star of the defense against Kutztown, recording a career-high four sacks. Gary Postell led the team in tackles with a career-high 10 while Tyler Knoblauch made a career-best eight tackles along with an interception on Saturday. For the season, the Huskies lead the PSAC in rushing by averaging over 359 yards per game on the ground. Bloomsburg returns home to host Lock Haven in Week 4. - PSAC football
