Draft Scout Casey Hayward News
08/24/14 - CB Casey Hayward didn't play Friday night. Hayward missed most of the practice time in training camp during the week because of recurring hamstring issues. "I don't think he'll be out awhile. That's not the indication I was given by the medical staff," McCarthy said after the game. "Hopefully, Casey can work Sunday" at practice. Hayward, who regained his nickel role on defense this offseason, played only three games last season because of hamstring injuries.
08/24/14 - CB Casey Hayward practiced Sunday after being held out most of last week, including Friday's game, as a safeguard in the wake of his history with hamstring issues going back to a truncated 2013 season for the talented nickel back.
08/21/14 - CB Casey Hayward didn't practice Thursday, raising doubt about his status for Friday's game against the Raiders. The nickel back also was held out of practice Tuesday, as head coach Mike McCarthy explained at the time the team was being cautious with Hayward because of his history of hamstring issues. McCarthy and the players weren't made available to reporters Thursday, so Hayward's official status for the game won't be known until before kickoff.
11/25/13 - CB Casey Hayward was placed on season-ending injured reserve Saturday. Hayward, who had a team-high six interceptions as a rookie last season, managed to play in only three games this season because of a recurring hamstring injury, which he sustained in a workout before training camp started in July.
11/20/13 - CB Casey Hayward (hamstring) remains sidelined indefinitely, possibly the rest of the season, because of his lingering leg injury.
