Draft Scout Snapshot: A closer look at the Packers' picks: Round 2/62 -- Casey Hayward, CB, 5-11, 192, Vanderbilt...Aggressive, instinctive playmaker should contribute immediately in nickel-heavy scheme and give savvy veteran Charles Woodson more latitude to play a rover position. COULD SURPRISE: Cornerback Casey Hayward: Thompson compensated for the medical-prompted release of Pro Bowl safety Collins before the draft by making a play for the skilled Hayward. He will stay at corner, but winning a starting job would provide intriguing options for the Packers to replace Collins. - The Sports Xchange

 Draft Scout Casey Hayward News
12/27/12 - CB Casey Hayward is on the verge of becoming the first rookie to lead the team in interceptions since Mike McKenzie in 1999. Hayward, a second-round draft pick this year, has six interceptions - three more than his closest pursuer, cornerback Sam Shields.
12/21/12 - CB Casey Hayward continues to lead all NFL rookies with six interceptions and is tied for fourth among all players. Hayward has the team lead this season by four interceptions with only two games left in the regular season, putting him in position to become the first rookie to lead the Packers in picks since Mike McKenzie had six in 1999.
12/16/12 - CB Casey Hayward had his team-leading sixth interception, which also leads all NFL rookies this season, late in the first half of the 21-13 win at Chicago on Sunday. The takeaway at midfield and Hayward's 24-yard return led to an 8-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers to James Jones that put Green Bay ahead to stay at 14-7 en route to clinching a second straight NFC North title.
11/18/12 - CB Casey Hayward, making a fourth straight start opposite Tramon Williams, picked off a pass from Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford in the second quarter of the Packers' 24-20 road win Sunday. Hayward, a second-round draft pick this year, leads the team with five interceptions.
11/08/12 - CB Casey Hayward has started the last three games for an injured Sam Shields but doesn't have an interception since moving into that role. The rookie still leads the team with four interceptions, tied for third in the league.
