11/24/12 - Aramis Hillary threw for 180 yards and a touchdown and added 50 on the ground as Coastal Carolina defeated Bethune-Cookman 24-14 Saturday in the first round of the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs. Hilary completed 19 of 24 passes and his 3-yard touchdown to Matt Hazel gave Coastal Carolina (8-4) a 14-0 lead with 7:16 left in the half after a scoreless first quarter. Bethune-Cookman (9-3) forced Hilary to fumble and throw an interception on each of Coastal Carolina's first two possessions of the second half but could not capitalize.
Jeremy Height led Coastal Carolina's rushing attack with 78 yards and Marcus Whitener, who had just 12 rushing yards all season, finished with 73 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. Whitener's 14-yard touchdown gave Coastal Carolina an early 7-0 lead. The Chanticleers take on Old Dominion in the second round on Saturday, Dec. 1. - AP Sports
11/13/12 - NOV 12 BIG SOUTH OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Coastal Carolina quarterback Aramis Hillary (North Augusta, S.C.) was 19-of-22 passing ( =86.3 percent) for 261 yards and tied the Big South single-game record with five touchdown passes in Coastal's 65-7 win at Presbyterian College. He also rushed seven times for 81 yards to finish the day with 342 yards of offense. After missing last week with an injury, Hillary completed nine of his first 10 passes for 74 yards, two of which were TD throws. After throwing his first interception in 190 attempts, Hillary went 10-of-11 for 187 yards with touchdown passes of 43, 50 and 11 yards. 11/10/12 - Aramis Hillary passed for five touchdowns and Coastal Carolina scored 22 points in each of the first two quarters in a 65-7 rout of Presbyterian Saturday. The Chanticleers (6-4, 4-1 Big South) won their fourth straight game with ease. Hillary, who missed the previous game due to injury, completed 19 of 22 passes for 261 yards. Five different receivers caught touchdown passes. Matt Hazel had two, and Kenny Jones, David Duran and DeMario Bennett one apiece. Bennett's touchdown catch was a 50-yarder. Coastal Carolina outrushed Presbyterian (2-8, 0-5) 365-163. Marcus Whitener gained 143 of those yards and scored twice, one touchdown coming on a 61-yarder. Niccolo Mastromatteo also returned a punt 87 yards for a Chanticleers touchdown. Presbyterian's only touchdown came through the air. 10/22/12 - Jeremy Height and a stifling defense helps Coastal Carolina dominate Virginia Military Institute 34-7 Saturday in Big South Conference play. Coastal Carolina (3-4, 1-1) got off to a fast start and did not look back. Jeremy Height scored first for Coastal Carolina on a 19-yard touchdown run. Height led the team in rushing with 97 yards on 12 carries. Already leading 14-0, Aramis Hillary found Demario Bennett for a 10-yard touchdown pass and a 21-0 lead. Hillary finished with 114 yards on 11 of 19 passing, and added 58 rushing yards on 10 carries. VMI (2-5, 1-2) was unable to move the ball the entire game against Coastal Carolina's smothering defense. The Chanticleers held the Keydets to just 16 rushing yards, while accumulating five sacks. 09/25/12 - SEPT 24 BIG SOUTH OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Coastal Carolina quarterback Aramis Hillary (North Augusta, S.C.) was 30-of-47 passing for 356 yards and three touchdowns at Toledo, setting school records for completions and attempts in a game, and throwing for the third-highest passing total in Coastal history. He led the Chants to four touchdown drives against the Rockets and did not throw an interception in recording a 148.52 pass efficiency rating. Hillary was 12-of-16 for 153 yards and a touchdown in the first half, and rallied the Chants from a 17-7 deficit to a 21-17 lead early in the second half. He also converted three third down pass plays during three of Coastal's four TD drives -- two of which were touchdown strikes.
