01/24/15 - S Keelan Johnson was signed by the Cowboys Friday (Jan. 23) to a reserve/contract for the 2015 season. The signing was reported by the team the same day that Johnson pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in an incident involving a Tempe, Ariz., police officer last July. Johnson attended Arizona State and went undrafted in 2013 and was signed by the Dolphins as a free agent. Prosecutors said Johnson's plea was entered Friday and sentencing in scheduled for Feb. 25. Johnson was accused of pushing a police officer who was investigating a fight at a bar in Tempe on July 19, 2014. The fight was between an acquaintance of Johnson and a bouncer at the bar. Johnson had been facing trial after originally pleading not guilty to charges of aggravated assault on an officer and resisting arrest. Johnson was originally signed by the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2013 and ended up with the Eagles where he played two games. He was released by the Eagles in the cutdown to 53 players last August.
08/31/13 - DB Keelan Johnson was released by the Miami Dolphins on Saturday.
05/03/13 - Dolphins Sign 19 Undrafted College Free Agents...S - KEELAN JOHNSON (5-11, 209, 9/26/89, Arizona State): Finished second on the team with 88 total tackles (65 solo) in 2012 Led the team (11th in the nation) with five interceptions and 13 passes defensed. - MiamiDolphins.com
01/13/13 - Two Sun Devil seniors will represent Arizona State once more in the collegiate careers as standouts Josh Hubner and Keelan Johnson have each accepted invitations to take part in the to 88th East-West Shrine Game. The annual postseason college football all-star game will be held January 19, 2013 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., kicking off at 4 p.m. EST and televised live on NFL Network.

Johnson, a senior captain for the 2012 squad, finished the year with 88 tackles - a mark that was good for second on the team. His five interceptions led the team and his .38 interceptions per game and was third in the conference and 17th in the nation this past season. His 6.77 tackles per contest were good for 13th in the conference this season.

His 13 passes defended were second behind Osahon Irabor's 14 and the most since Justin Tryon broke up 16 in 2007 and his eight career interceptions are tied for second since 2000. However, his forced fumble against Arizona's Matt Scott to turn the tides of the Territorial Cup will likely be the play that goes down as the biggest in his legacy. - Arizona State football
