Draft Scout News
10/22/14 - LB Chandler Jones did not practice Wednesday because of a hip injury that, according to the Boston Globe, could sidline him for a month. Jones, who's previously been limited in practice with a shoulder injury, suffered the hip injury in last Thursday night's win over the Jets.
10/14/14 - DE Chandler Jones was limited again this week with a shoulder injury.
10/08/14 - DE Chandler Jones continues to be limited in practice with a shoulder injury.
10/01/14 - DE Chandler Jones was limited in Wednesday's practice with a shoulder injury suffered in Monday night's loss in Kansas City.
08/24/14 - DE Chandler Jones led the Patriots with 11.5 sacks in his second season last fall. This summer the 2012 first-round pick has been spending most of his time working as an outside linebacker in New England's 3-4 front. The work he's put in on the practice field came to a head in Friday night's win over the Panthers as Jones was dominant in the first half, recording six solo tackles, two sacks, three tackles for a loss and a pair of quarterback hits.
"He's a versatile player and he's very conscientious to try to do whatever we ask him to do and playing in all those different spots," coach Bill Belichick said of Jones' work at outside linebacker. "He's a very athletic player with good length, good playing strength so he has a lot of versatility athletically, he has a lot of versatility mentally. He's tried to work on the techniques at those positions and that just gives our defense more flexibility. We'll see how it all goes from game to game or during the season but he's definitely shown the ability to play multiple spots and play them productively."
