Draft Scout Datone Jones News
01/08/16 - DE Datone Jones (neck) is listed as questionable for Sunday's wild-card game against the Washington Redskins.
01/07/16 - DE Datone Jones (neck) has yet to practice this week, raising the likelihood he won't be available for Sunday's first-round playoff game at Washington. The situational lineman suffered the injury in the regular-season ending loss to Minnesota on Sunday night. After head coach Mike McCarthy said earlier in the day Thursday that Jones was out of town, presumably to get checked out by a specialist, the former first-round draft pick was at practice in the afternoon riding an exercise bike off to the side. McCarthy suggested the early prognosis for Jones is the neck injury isn't career-threatening. "We're not going down that path," McCarthy said.
01/06/16 - DE Datone Jones (neck) didn't practice Wednesday. Jones, who has been a situational contributor on defense with three sacks this season, suffered the injury in the first half of the loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night. His status for the playoff game Sunday is up in the air.
01/04/16 - DE Datone Jones (neck) dropped out of the loss to Minnesota on Sunday night late in the first half. Head coach Mike McCarthy didn't have an update on Jones on Monday as the Packers began preparations for the first-round playoff game at Washington on Sunday.
10/01/15 - DE Datone Jones (head) practiced Thursday on a full-time basis for the second straight day and doesn't appear to be in jeopardy of not playing Sunday against the 49ers. After being examined for a concussion following his collision with linebacker Joe Thomas on an open-field tackle of Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith in Green Bay's win Monday night, Jones quickly jumped back onto the field Wednesday. Jones said he was never diagnosed as having a concussion, insisting a lunging Thomas' helmet jarred the lineman's shoulder and neck, not his head.
