Draft Scout Travis Kelce News
09/17/14 - TE Travis Kelce will see his opportunities in the Chiefs offense continue to expand after his performance against Denver last Sunday.
Kelce was targeted by quarterback Alex Smith six times against the Broncos, with the young tight end catching four passes for 81 yards, a 20.3-yard average. That production included three third down catches of 20, 24 and 20 yards. In some of the Chiefs offensive formations, the 6-5 Kelce is being used more as a wide receiver than tight end.
09/15/14 - TE Travis Kelce had a breakout performance against Denver when he caught four passes for 81 yards. Kelce grabbed big third-down receptions of 20, 24 and 20 yards. It was a career-high performance for the 2013 third-round draft choice out of the University of Cincinnati. In two games, Kelce has caught seven passes for 130 yards, an impressive 18.6-yard average.
08/19/14 - TE Travis Kelce leads the Chiefs in receiving after two preseason games and has two long touchdown catches. Kelce produced a 69-yard touchdown play against Cincinnati and followed up with a 43-yard score against Carolina. He's caught six passes for 136 yards, a healthy 22.7-yard per catch average.
10/13/13 - The Kansas City Chiefs officially placed rookie tight end Travis Kelce on injured reserve on Saturday.
Kelce, 24, had microfracture knee surgery this week.
Kansas City took Kelce in the third round of the draft out of Cincinnati.
To fill Kelce's spot on the roster, the Chiefs promoted rookie safety Bradley McDougald from their practice squad. McDougald, out of Kansas, has played two games but has spent the majority of the season on the practice squad.
09/25/13 - TE Travis Kelce did not practice on Wednesday with the Chiefs as he continues to try to come back from a bruised knee that he suffered on August 24. Kelce was inactive for the last game in Philadelphia.
