Draft Scout News
03/27/15 - T Jonathan Martin was waived by the 49ers Thursday (March 26), one year after San Francisco traded for him in the aftermath of a bullying incident in Miami.
The 6-foot-5, 312-pound Martin played in 15 games and started nine last season for the 49ers, who acquired him from the Dolphins last March for a 2015 seventh-round draft pick.
If none of the other 31 teams in the NFL claim Martin off waivers, he would become a free agent.
The 25-year-old Martin was drafted in the second round by the Dolphins in 2012 out of Stanford, where he played under former Cardinal and 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh.
10/08/14 - OT Jonathan Martin likely will get his fifth start of the season Monday against the St. Louis Rams in place of injured Anthony Davis, who is out with a sprained MCL in his knee. Martin was credited with a good performance in Sunday's 22-17 win over the Kansas City Chiefs even though he allowed a sack to Chiefs pass-rushing standout Justin Houston.
10/06/14 - OT Jonathan Martin made his fourth start of the season in place of injured Anthony Davis and held his own in a matchup with Kansas City Chiefs standout pass-rushing LB Justin Houston. Martin gave up one sack to Houston in the game.
10/02/14 - T Jonathan Martin is being prepared to start at right tackle in place of injured Anthony Davis for the fourth time in five games this season. If he gets the start, Martin will have his hands full with Kansas City Chiefs pass-rushing outside linebacker Justin Houston, the team leader in sacks with five.
09/22/14 - RT Jonathan Martin did not give up a sack for the first time in three games, but he was called for a 15-yard clipping penalty in the loss to Arizona.
