Draft Scout Snapshot: A closer look at the Texans' picks: Round 4/121 - Keshawn Martin, WR, 5-11, 189, Michigan State...He should provide depth as a slot receiver, and he has punt return capability that might make Jacoby Jones expendable. He scored five different ways in college, and the coaches like his versatility. - The Sports Xchange

 Draft Scout Keshawn Martin News
12/31/12 - WR Keshawn Martin did an exceptional job on returns. He averaged 23 yards on punt returns and 31 yards on kickoff returns. He replaced Trindon Holliday early in the season. Holliday had replaced Jacoby Jones, who signed with Baltimore and is going to the Pro Bowl. The coaches are hoping Martin improves as a receiver during the offseason and will become a legitimate threat.
11/18/12 - WR Keshawn Martin had a terrific game as a returner. He averaged 38 yards on two punt returns and 32.4 yards on five kickoff returns. He had a 71-yard punt return that should have been a touchdown had he not been tackled by P Bryan Anger.
11/01/12 - WR Keshawn Martin will return kickoffs and punts against Buffalo. In his first chance as the returner after Trindon Holliday was waived, Martin averaged only 5.6 yards on punt returns and 20.5 on kickoff returns. The Texans are last in the NFL in kickoff returns and coverage. Martin, a fourth-round pick, is also the team's third wide receiver who has six catches for 63 yards.
10/29/12 - WR Keshawn Martin, a rookie fourth-round pick, will return kickoffs and punts for the second consecutive game. After Trindon Holliday was waived, Martin got double duty but failed to provide the team with much improvement. Martin averaged 5.6 yards on punt returns and 20.5 on kickoff returns in the victory over Baltimore. Special teams coordinator Joe Marciano hopes the extra work on returns and coverage will make a difference against Buffalo.
10/17/12 - WR Keshawn Martin, a fourth-round pick from Michigan State, has six catches for 63 yards. He also has run two times for 35 yards. Last week, Martin was given Trindon Holliday's responsibilities as the kickoff and punt returner. In the loss to Green Bay, Martin returned one punt for 19 yards. He averaged 21.7 yards on three kickoff returns. Holliday was waived and then claimed by Denver.
