04/08/13 - 2013 Central Florida Pro Day: Central Florida’s Latavius Murray generating buzz among scouts...A total of 26 NFL teams sent representatives to Central Florida’s pro day on March 20, which was also attended by Detroit Lions senior personnel executive James Harris. A total of 15 Central Florida players worked out. Latavius Murray, RB (6-foot-2 5/8, 223 pounds) - Murray ran the 40-yard dash in 4.40 and 4.38 seconds. He had a 10-foot-4 broad jump and a 36-inch vertical jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.36 seconds and the three-cone drill in 6.81 seconds. He also performed 22 lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press. Murray was not at the combine, but has had a lot of workouts with NFL teams. This is a hot prospect right now and will be a draftable guy later this month. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com
01/15/13 - Several NFL scouts and coaches will have their eyes on UCF senior running back Latavius Murray as he will be competing in the annual Texas vs. The Nation all-star game Saturday, Feb. 2, on FOX Sports Southwest. This year’s contest will get underway at 2:30 p.m. and be held at Eagle Stadium in Allen, Texas.
A native of Nedrow, N.Y., Murray rumbled over opponents all season long en route to helping the 2012 Knights finish with a 10-4 record. He led Conference USA by averaging 100.5 yards per game, and had 15 rushing touchdowns which were good for second on the UCF single-season list. Murray amassed 1,106 rushing yards even though he missed three games, marking the seventh-most yards by a Knight in school history.
Murray was selected to the All-C-USA First Team and Phil Steele’s All-C-USA First Team as a senior. He posted five 100-yard rushing games, and was the first player since the program’s inception in 1979 to have a rushing touchdown in nine-straight games. Coming out of the backfield, Murray notched 27 receptions, 231 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 2012, while he had 50 catches and 524 yards overall as a receiver.
He capped off his career ranking second all-time at UCF in overall touchdowns (44), eighth in rushing attempts (453), sixth in yards (2,424) and third in rushing touchdowns (37). He did not lose a fumble in his final 407 carries of his career, and only lost one fumble as a Knight which came as a freshman in 2008. - UCF football
