08/07/17 - RB Latavius Murray was activated from the physically unable to perform list, the team announced. Murray was sidelined while recovering from offseason ankle surgery. The 27-year-old was expected to practice on Monday with Minnesota for the first time since signing a three-year, $15 million deal -- $8.55 million guaranteed -- as a free agent in March. He missed all of the offseason practices and the first 10 days of training camp while rehabilitating his surgically repaired right ankle.
08/06/17 - RB Latavius Murray, who was expected to be back from ankle surgery before the start of camp, still has not practiced and will not play in the preseason opener at Buffalo on Thursday.
07/24/17 - RB Latavius Murray was placed on the physically unable to perform list as training camp got underway. Murray, 27, is still recovering from offseason right ankle surgery. He reported to camp at Minnesota State University in Mankato. Murray spent the past four seasons playing for the Oakland Raiders before signing a three-year, $15 million deal -- $8.55 million guaranteed -- with Minnesota as a free agent. He missed all of spring drills following his March 22 ankle surgery.
03/23/17 - RB Latavius Murray, signed by the Vikings last week, underwent successful ankle surgery Wednesday. He should be ready for training camp.
The Vikings said in a statement that they were aware that Murray would require surgery prior to the team signing him on March 16. Dr. Bob Anderson performed the procedure in Charlotte, N.C.
The 27-year-old Murray was signed as a free agent to replace perennial Pro Bowler Adrian Peterson, who was not re-signed and allowed to walk after Minnesota declined to pick up his 2017 option.

Murray spent his first four seasons with the Oakland Raiders and led them in rushing the past two. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2015 after rushing for 1,066 yards and six touchdowns. He has rushed for 2,278 yards and 20 touchdowns (12 in 2016) in 45 games (31 starts).
