Draft Scout News
12/24/14 - NT Dontari Poe was honored with his second selection for the Pro Bowl, going back-to-back seasons. Poe has a career-high five sacks on the season and matches his quarterback pressures from last season with seven. He has also added 43 tackles.
09/22/14 - NT Dontari Poe had his most active game of the season so far, with four tackles, 1.5 sacks and a pass knocked down against the Dolphins.
10/14/13 - NT Dontari Poe suffered a sprained ankle in the game against Oakland, but returned to the field and finished the game. "He's been dealing with it for a couple of weeks and tweaked it again during the game," Reid said of Poe. "He's a pretty tough character and keeps playing anyway."
09/17/13 - DT Dontari Poe is capturing a lot of attention around the league in the first two weeks, as he leads all interior defensive linemen in quarterback sacks with 3.5. Last year, the Chiefs did not have any sacks from their interior defensive line. Former general manager Scott Pioli botched many of his selections in the draft over four seasons, but grabbing Poe in the first-round of the 2012 NFL Draft may turn out to be his best decision.
"He has unusual quickness, unusual conditioning, unusual change of director for a big man," said Chiefs defensive coordinator Bob Sutton of the 6-3, 245-pounder out of Memphis. "He's done a great job to become a really great technician, to become football-savvy out there. He's done a great job."
11/15/12 - NT Dontari Poe has been limited in practices this week by a bruised knee that he suffered Monday night in Pittsburgh. Poe has started every game in his rookie season, but there's a real chance he may watch Sunday's game against Cincinnati from the sidelines.
