08/27/14 - K John Potter (thigh) cleared waivers and was placed on reserve/injured Wednesday (Aug. 27) by the Dolphins.
08/26/14 - K Jake Rogers was signed Monday because of injuries to Caleb Sturgis (groin) and John Potter (thigh). Rogers said he got a call from the Dolphins around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, which would have been during the fourth quarter of the Cowboys game. Potter sustained his injury in the first quarter after converting a 26-yard field goal. The Dolphins currently have four quarterbacks and three kickers on their roster.
Rogers was 4-for-5 on field-goal attempts in Monday's practice. Rogers was wide left on a 44-yard attempt from the right hash mark.
08/24/14 - K John Potter sustained a hip injury in the first quarter of the Dallas game and is likely out for Thursday's game against St. Louis. Potter was filling in for regular kicker Caleb Sturgis (groin).
08/15/14 - K John Potter was signed by the Dolphins Friday (Aug. 15). The 6-foot-1, 219-pound Potter spent part of this offseason with the Detroit Lions. He has played nine NFL games with the Buffalo Bills and Washington Redskins and has made three of the four field goals he attempted and all seven point-after tries. Potter was a seventh-round draft pick of the Buffalo Bills in 2012 out of Western Michigan. He spent time with the Redskins during training camp last year.
