Draft Scout Snapshot: A closer look at the Dolphins' picks: Round 2/54 - Jamar Taylor, CB, 5-11, 192, Boise State...The Dolphins need to revamp their secondary after parting ways with Vontae Davis and Sean Smith in the last year, and began that process with Taylor, one of the most consistent corners in the draft who had four interceptions in his senior season. Taylor will compete for the No. 3 cornerback spot behind starters Brent Grimes and Richard Marshall, and will eventually replace the two older veterans in the lineup. QUOTE TO NOTE: "I play with a swagger. Yeah, I'm kind of chippy. I like to talk stuff, I like to keep a smile on my face. But you know I'm someone who is going to go out and play real aggressive and let you know what I'm doing." -- Dolphins CB Jamar Taylor, their second-round pick out of Boise State. - The Sports Xchange

 Draft Scout Jamar Taylor News
05/31/13 - The Miami Dolphins announced the signing on Thursday of cornerback Jamar Taylor, the team's second-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. The Miami Herald reported that the four-year deal was worth $3.6 million. Taylor recently had sports hernia surgery and isn't expected to participate in the Dolphins' organized team activities or minicamp. Once he is recovered, he is projected as a potential third cornerback on the depth chart. Taylor, the No. 54 overall selection in April, was a three-year starter at Boise State who finished his college career with 137 tackles, seven interceptions, 18 passes defensed, 11 tackles for loss, six forced fumbles and five sacks. As a three-year starter for the Broncos, he played in 48 games, making 35 starts.
04/28/13 - A closer look at the Dolphins' picks: Round 2/54 - Jamar Taylor, CB, 5-11, 192, Boise State...The Dolphins need to revamp their secondary after parting ways with Vontae Davis and Sean Smith in the last year, and began that process with Taylor, one of the most consistent corners in the draft who had four interceptions in his senior season. 04/28/13 - The Chiefs wanted the Dolphins' 54th pick for left tackle Branden Albert, but instead the Dolphins kept it and beefed up their secondary with Boise State cornerback Jamar Taylor, whom the team showed a great deal of attention to during the pre-draft process. The Broncos had the nation's No. 4-ranked pass defense, and much of it was due to Taylor, who led the team with four interceptions and nine passes defended. Taylor, 5-11 and 192 pounds, can play on the boundary and the slot and figures to compete with Nolan Carroll and Dimitri Patterson right away for the No. 3 corner spot behind Brent Grimes and Richard Marshall. The Dolphins don't play a lot of press coverage, so Taylor should be a good fit for the scheme. "What you love about him is he's very smart, he's very physical, he's got very good ball skills," general manager Jeff Ireland said. "Prototypical size and speed, very smart, very physical, can play inside and outside. So we're very happy to have him." - The Sports Xchange
04/25/13 - DANE BRUGLER'S FINAL 2013 DRAFT BOARD: 36. CB Jamar Taylor, Boise State (5-11, 192, 5SR)...Taylor is a quick-footed, fluid corner with loose hips and a professional work ethic. While he needs to get stronger against the run, he has NFL starting potential. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
04/25/13 - ROB RANG'S FINAL 2013 NFL DRAFT BIG BOARD: 27. Jamar Taylor, CB, Boise State: In a draft class filled with talented cover corners, Taylor is one of the more enjoyable defenders to watch on tape; he's every bit as impressive in zone, press and off-man coverage, as well as in run support. Taylor was impressive at the Senior Bowl and certainly erased any concerns about his overall athleticism with a stellar performance at the combine. Taylor is a better all-around player than former Boise State standout Kyle Wilson, who was selected by the Jets 29th overall in 2010. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
